Frequently Asked Questions

Anyone that wants to improve their overall quality of life.

But I have experience with many neuroloigcal diagnoses that include: Traumatic Brain Injury, Stroke, Spinal Cord Injury, Guillain Barre Syndrome, Multiple Sclerosis, Brain Tumors, Neuromuscular Disorders, etc

Sessions typically last 1 hour.

The Hypervibe is a plate that uses whole body vibration and can be set to different levels depending on each individuals needs. It uses mechanical oscillations to stimulate the neuromuscular system while also assisting the skeletal system. One of the great things about the Hypervibe is that therapists can provide assistance in any position while on the plate and they can gain benefits right away, even if the patient doesn’t have independent body control.

Many love using the Hypervibe during sessions as it calms the nervous system, which helps reduce anxiety, regulate muscle tone, and induces relaxation. This tool also helps break up normal routines by providing new sensations and added sensory input while exercising!

Benefits of the different frequencies:

  • Low frequencies facilitate muscle contractions for stabilization when standing or sitting.

  • Mid frequencies increase blood flow and lymphatic drainage to help with circulation or swelling in the extremities.

  • High frequencies provide the most stimulation, creating involuntary reflexive muscle contractions that are difficult to target.

Utilizing whole body vibration is highly individualized, providing exactly what each patient needs!

Overall Benefits:

  • Improves balance

  • Reduces spasticity

  • Regulates muscle tone

  • Increases muscle activation and strength

  • Improves walking ability and functional mobility

  • Improves bone structure and increases bone density

  • Increases total body muscle and bone mass

  • Improves walking speed, step length, and step width

  • Improves muscle function and flexibility

  • Increases motor function and balance

  • Decreases contractures

  • Improves cardiovascular health

  • Assists in blood flow, improving body circulation

  • Creates involuntary reflexive muscle use

  • Reduces anxiety

Task-specific electrical stimulation (TASES) is an evidence-based FES used on children and adults with cerebral palsy and other movement disorders. TASES is an active intervention and requires participation.  Task Specific Electrical Stimulation (TASES) activates muscles and provides sensory input and awareness to the user. This increased muscle awareness and muscle contraction ability improves movement patterns and function. TASES improves joint range of motion and also decreases spasticity. During treatment, motor learning occurs with the repetition of movement in proper alignment and participation in age-appropriate motivating tasks.
